The Halon Recycling Corporation (HRC) has developed a voluntary code of practice that outlines responsible handling procedures for companies that reclaim used halons. The HRC Code of Practice for Halon Reclaiming Companies was developed to provide assurance to the public that HRC member companies engaged in the business of halon recycling and recovery, to operate in a manner that promotes safe and environmentally responsible halon reclamation. All HRC member companies that reclaim halons have agreed to comply with the Code of Practice.
